Duplicate removal (de-duping) is an automated process that removes duplicates from a mailing list based on several criteria. The process is dependant upon several variables, and cannot be made 100% accurate. See below for further details.

Should you request, Custom Postcards (or BPP) we process your data to automatically look for duplicates in your data base, where both the name AND the address match. Our default procedure is to keep just one of the duplicates for mailing. If you would like duplicates removed using different criteria, such as one per household, where ONLY the address matches, please be sure to indicate this when submitting your list. When de-duping by household the software will randomly pick which name and address to be used.

The options for removing duplicates from your mailing list are as follows:

• De-dupe by Name an Address (default) - Unless otherwise specified, all lists submitted for processing will have duplicates removed using this process. Fields containing name and address info will be compared. Only records that contain duplicate name AND duplicate address info will be removed.

Caution: in order for us to de-dupe by Individual Name, the First and Last name must be in separate fields.

Note: The de-duping process looks for EXACT matches. If there is any variation between the names or addresses of two records, the duplicate will not be removed.

• De-dupe by Address Only – One per Household, address field will be compared with all other records in the database. Only one record will be kept.

• Do not De-dupe - List will be processed as-is, no records will be removed.
